Under the NSW Public Health Act 2010, immunisation procedures apply to preschoolers enrolling in department preschools. A school cannot enrol a child in preschool unless the parent/guardian has provided an approved immunisation certificate that shows the child:

  • is fully immunised for their age, or

  • has a medical reason not to be vaccinated, or

  • is on a recognised catch-up schedule if their child has fallen behind with their vaccinations.


You can obtain your child’s statement if they are under 14 years of age.

The quickest way to get your child’s statement is by using your Medicare online account. Do this through the:

You can also ask your general practitioner or vaccination provider to print a copy for you.

Alternatively, you can call the AIR enquiries line to order your statement. It can take up to 10 business days to get your statement in the post.
